Week 27

Well we are at the tail end of Week 27.....Third Trimester!

Last week we all had a nice time in Vegas. Although my feet and ankles swelled to softball size the last two days. A nice time was had by all (even though we didn't win any money!).

Here is a picture of Mike and I before his friends wedding at Planet Hollywood.

Now us at the RainForest Cafe at MGM.

We bought the little munchkin this hoodie from Paul Frank. We figure it works either way....boy or girl. (I just liked the spikes on the hood! It is going to be terror we already know)

Things are coming along. I am getting bigger by the day and this little person is kicking up a storm. Using my insides as a slip and slide lately. Sleeping is harder and so are some everyday tasks (cleaning, putting pants on, picking stuff up, getting off the couch....).

More in the coming weeks! Stay tuned!

Week 25

Week 25 ( a little late)

Baby's Length: 8.5-9 in.
Baby's Weight: 1.5-2 lbs.
Baby's Size: 5 lb. bag of flour

That oh-so-handy sense of equilibrium is kicking in, and baby's learning to distinguish right side up from upside down.
Your baby now has fully formed fingerprints and his bones are continuing to harden.
The taste buds of the baby are forming. The baby may be developing a weakness for sweets.

Things are coming along! The baby is very excited to go to Las Vegas next week and hear all the lovely sounds of the slot machines!!!! More next week!

Week 23

Week 23
At eight inches and slightly over a pound, (ours was  a pound at the beginning of the month!) the baby is the size and shape of a small doll. This week marks the beginning of some serious weight gain. The baby's weight in the next four weeks alone should double (and you may feel as though yours is too).

You have probably heard your developing baby's heartbeat through a Doppler a number of times already (though you never get tired of hearing it), but by now you can also hear it through a standard stethoscope. What a heart throb!  (
Mike tried this last week...couldn't hear it. Might try again this week.)

Your baby's skin is reddish in color now because of the developing blood vessels underneath (remember, the skin is very thin still). It also hangs loosely from his or her little body at this point. That's because the skin grows faster than the fat develops during fetal growth. But don't worry.  By the time your baby is born, he or she will be pleasantly plump and filled out — from chubby cheeks to chubby toes.

Well I popped out quite a bit since Easter..... and it will continue from now on! So just bear with me! Nothing else new to report! Mike is doing the first round of sanding on the furniture and hopes to stain it in the next couple weeks.
More next week!

Baby's Room Part 1

Here are some long awaited pictures of the first half of the baby room remodel! Mike did the painting and put together the crib. I just put the sheets on the bed and washed all the bedding parts.

Gavin likes the new room!

"Who me?"

The colors of the walls are tan and one green wall. The pictures look a little yellowish....

The crib and bedding/accessories are courtesy of Mike's Mom as our Baby Shower gift (a little early so we can have everything ready- Thank you!).

We (Mike) still needs to sand and stain the furniture to match the crib. That will be in the next couple weeks and we'll post the final pictures after that. We have some more decorating and arranging to do..... but this is the "theme" we went with. Neutral blue/green/brown colors. Since our house is all green and brown.....this fit perfect and can grow with the child.

More pictures of the room when it is completed next month!

Week 22

Week 22
Baby's now the size of a papaya!
Baby's settling into sleep cycles, snoozing about 12 to 14 hours a day. It shouldn't be hard to figure out when -- just pay attention to those kicks as they start and stop.
Watch what you say -- baby is now able to hear outside noise from down in the womb. Studies show that baby finds gentle music and your own voice most soothing. That little face is fully formed.

Things are moving along. My stomach has grown a size or two since Easter. Sleeping is getting a little tough, but get enough. Mike is hoping that the snoring phase doesn't last too long. Between me and Gavin the wonder puggle.... it can get loud at night!

The baby moves/kicks after I eat sweets and mostly at night. It's a night owl! Still not strong enough for anyone else to feel but me, soon though.

Mike has the baby room half done! I'll be posting pictures of that tomorrow.

Baby's First Pictures

Here are Baby K's first pictures. They were taken a week ago during 19 weeks. Now don't go looking for a little winkey or no winkey. We are keeping it a surprise! Both my doctor and the doctor at the ultrasound office said it is a healthy baby from all the views.

Estimated to weigh 11 ounces as of Friday the 2nd. The little monster was scrunched up most of the time...but here are some of the pictures they let us take home.

<--- Top view of the head.
Body is scrunched on the right.

We are even more excited now that we "saw" that there is
something really in there! And we were able to see the heart beating instead of just hearing it.
I've felt a few slight movements in there this week and last. So that is something new!

More next week!!

Week 20

We are at the halfway point this week! Here are some updates on what’s going on in there!

Week 20:

• Your little half-baked baby weighs more than half a pound! About the size of a small cantaloupe.

• His hair and nails are growing rapidly. He even has the beginnings of eyebrows.

• Her skin is getting thicker, too, under that protective, waxy coating of vernix.
